6/24/2005 5:23:06 PM - Return of the Tobers

Tobers has always held a prominent spot on the Superluminal web site. Now, he doth return.

He is 2% tiger by weight and is the 15th link you will find on Google when searching for his name. We know that we can do better in this regard and for the near term our sights are focused on getting him onto the first page of search results.

Note: As of December 29, 2006, Tobers occupies the first and second hits for his name on a Google image search.

That-s funny. I think I probably just miscounted. At the time, I was thinking, "That-s odd...I would have thought that it would be 16th link." Why would I think that? Well, that number always shows up where significant events are concerned...and for all manner of things concerning myself. It-s amazing.

What-s the address of the President of the United States? 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

How many acres of land are being redeveloped at the old site of the World Trade Center? Sixteen.

Number of words in Bush-s 2003 State of the Union regarding Iraq-s attempt to procure uranium from Africa? Sixteen. (This number was repeatedly mentioned by the press in later months...just Google for "sixteen words uranium".)

When was the first atomic bomb detonated? July 16, 1945.

A team member on a previous game once challenged me as to what year Shakespeare died. I said that was a no brainer...1616, of course.

Abraham Lincoln, who pretty much always comes out on top of historians- lists of the greatest United States Presidents, was the 16th President.

Einstein published his ground-breaking General Theory of Relativity in 1916.

I could go on and on...by your actually taking the time to count the links and state that it is in fact the 16th...well, you-ve played an unwitting role in furthering this phenomenon. Neat, huh?
